Online shopping is similar to shopping in an actual store so don't be impulsive. Take the time to compare products and prices in different sites, surf around for the best deals and make sure to read the fine print. 2. Discount codes

Most people don't know that they can get major discounts on most shopping websites. The secret is to look for discount codes or "coupons" If you clip coupons or buy one get one free tags from magazines from newspapers and magazines then you will be surprised to find out that the same concept applies to online shopping. Be patient and dig around. Some sites display their discount codes openly and for others you can refer to sites such as Couponcabin, CouponMom etc.

3. Safe and secure

You won't just leave your wallet anywhere in the mall or a store. Be careful about where you leave your credit card details online. Always shop from a secure, known site, don't make purchases from computers in internet café's or other public computers. Shopping online has many advantages over going to the mall or store to buy clothes. First of all, it's quicker and easier. Going to the mall could take hours of your day, while shopping online can take just a few clicks if you know what you want. Secondly, you can find deals, coupons and sales that may only be available online. And the best, and my personal favorite part about online shopping, is that you get the packages delivered straight to your door. Online shopping can save you money and a headache, you just have to know how to do it right. Below are some tips on how to shop online the smart way.

If you see something you like, don't rush to buy it in the stores. More likely than not, you will find it online and at a better price. No matter what it is, whether it's wholesale women's clothing, accessories, things for the house or kid's items, write down the name of the item and a few details about the item. When you get to a computer, go to Google or Yahoo or whichever search engine you use and type in the name of the product. Somewhere on the page you should be able to click on "Shopping" results. You will be shown hundreds of online stores selling your item. It may take you some time to look through a few of them, but have patience. You will most likely find your item at a better price than in the stores.

Many online stores like Amazon and eBay have customer reviews, so take advantage of those. I can't think of something more irritating than going to the store to buy something, only to come home and it doesn't work. If you take the time to read reviews, you have a much better chance of getting a product you're happy with and won't have to go through the hassle of returning.

Many stores will offer coupons online. Simply type in the name of the store and type in "discount" or "coupon." At the very least, you're likely to find a coupon for free shipping. It may not be much, but it's a few bucks you can put towards something else.

If it's the holiday season, buy your gifts wholesale. This will save you so much time and money. Order a bunch of accessories like sunglasses, jewelry or purses for the women in your office, or nice sweaters or winter tops for the women in your family. This will save you the headache of having to shop for individual gifts. You don't have to wait for the holidays to shop wholesale. If you find something you like, order a bunch of them and give them out as gifts for birthdays and other occasions. You'll feel so relieved when you know you already have a gift in your house.
